Mathijs Roling

Amusing , informative & sparkling

Arts, crafts, history, collecting, war and children's toys. This are a few aspects that you can expect in our National Tin Figures Museum. The world of the tin figures is quite similar to our real world but only 30 mm high. But not everything in our Museum is so tiny, This wall painting by Mathijs Röling, in which he depicts all the aspects of the world of the Tin figures is as high as the stairwell of our Museum.

Winkel Tinnenfiguren

It's an amusing museum...,

Some people consider tin figures as an extremely serious hobby, but many of these tin figures are of course, created as children's toys and we are still aware of it. We try to create a children's paradise in our museum. Where you can find a nostalgic, old-fashioned toys shop for older children as well as the fantasy figures for chidren a little bit less old.

Collectie

It's a informative museum...,

We have a rich collection of tin figures from all the periods of history. Many stories from the history lessons in school will get back in your memory if you walk along our diorama's. There are also less well-known stories like the battle of Ane. A battle in 1227 between poor farmers and the knight army of the Bishop of Utrecht.

Tingieten

And it's a sparkling museum.

We try to awake the tin figures to life by taking you into the ancient world of the craft of tin casting. From the engraving of the dies to the painting of the figures. There are frequently exhibitions, and we have workshops where you can create your own figures and paint them. There are also changing exhibitions of: collections that we get in loan, special topics or issues related to the tin figures world.
